Wednesday, March 15 - mini Midweek Lenten worship

Today begins the exploration, experimentation and attempt to bring worship to all of you virtually. Tonight is our first attempt at this. You can find the FB Live video on our FB page Immanuel Lutheran Church of Tower. And below is the recording as well.

Here is the presentation written by confirmation student Hannah Cheney that she would have given tonight had we gathering in person. Please feel free to respond to the questions she asks here or on the FB live feed.

Good evening everyone, (this is Hannah Cheney) today I will be talking about my favorite bible verse. My favorite bible verse is Romans 16:19-20. That verse says “Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I rejoice because of you, but I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil. The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet, the grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.” The reason why I choose this verse is because of camp. There was a song at camp about this verse ever since I learned this song it has stuck with me. This verse helps me remember to look for the good in all things and even evil Question 1 Are they any songs you learned at camp that have stuck with you that you find yourself humming or singing Question 2 what other kind of music and bible verses will help you get through this time of unknown this camp song has led me to a bible verse that helps me remember that God is bigger than evil.

And lastly here is a link to a YouTube video of another congregation presenting Holden Evening Prayer. You can feel free to sing along, hum along or just listen and you reflect and meditate this evening or every evening as part of your devotional time.
